The River Place South building offers residents free high-speed wireless
Internet in all apartments. A concierge takes care of packages and
other resident services in an attractive, marbled lobby. Our studios
are furnished in contemporary style and fully equipped with linens,
kitchenware, microwave, cable-ready TV, large walk-in closets, wall-to-wall
picture window and built-in bookcases. Just bring your suitcase. All
utilities are included in the rent. You can forget about paying for
electricity, water, gas, central heating and air-conditioning as well
as high-speed Internet access.
River Place boasts superb amenities. Among these are a large resort-style swimming
pool with lap lanes and a burbling, hot whirlpool in a Japanese-style rock garden
setting. An in-house fitness center in the River Place South building offers steam
room, sauna, weights, state-of-the-art exercise equipment, pool tables and ping pong
in a newly renovated 7,000 square-foot facility -- all free to residents. A separate
"Party Room" is available. Also on the property are picnic tables; barbecue pits;
an early-opening, late-closing grocery store; hair salon; professional dry cleaners
and plenty of parking, including on month-to-month lease.
Just across the Key Bridge from Georgetown's trendy nightlife, River Place also overlooks
the Iwo Jima National Park, site of the Marine Corps War Memorial and the Corps' Silent
Drill Team "Twilight Tattoo," a colorful military sunset pageant on Tuesday evenings
in the summer.
River Place sits close to jogging trails along the Potomac, upscale shopping in nearby Clarendon, acclaimed restaurants and bustling weekend antique and farmers' markets.
Front Desk
The front desk is staffed 8am-11pm M-F and 9am to 9pm Sat, Sun and
holidays. The staff receives packages for resident pick up.
Free Wi-Fi
Free high-speed wireless Internet access is available in every River
Place South apartment. Just bring your Wi-Fi-enabled computer and set
up an account.
Entertainment Center
A newly renovated 7,000 square-foot gym/entertainment center features
state-of-the-art exercise equipment. Also included are sauna, steam room,
locker rooms, billiards, and ping-pong. Open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday -
Friday and 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. weekends.
Bicycle Room
Bicycle storage is available for a one-time fee of $35. A key to the bike room key
is held at the Management Office.
Laundry
The laundry facility is located on the building’s 1st floor. An access
code is required for entry. Laundry machines work with a stored-value card.
Cards are provided by Management when you register. Additional cards can be
purchased by inserting $5 at a dispensing machine located next to the laundry room.
Vending
Newspaper and beverage machines are located on the basement level. A
beverage machine is also located in the laundry room.
River Place ID
Residents are required to register with the Management Office, where a River
Place ID is issued. The ID provides access to the fitness center and swimming pool. As of June 2007, a River Place South ID cost $25 per person.
Party Room
The party room is available for use by residents. Located on the lobby
level, it can comfortably accommodate 30 people. To reserve the party
room, contact the Management Office.
